AHDI joins LCD Group, leading to creation of Lewis & Clark Housing Developers

Lewis & Clark Development Group is proud to announce that Affordable Housing Developers, Incorporated (AHDI) has joined the organization, further expanding its reach to provide attainable and affordable housing for residents across North Dakota.

Effective May 1, LCD Group acquired AHDI’s nine multifamily properties, totaling 116 units, in Mandan, Minot, Dickinson, Williston, Hebron, Napoleon, Rolla, and Rugby. Four former AHDI staff members have joined LCD Group’s team.

AHDI has been rebranded as Lewis & Clark Housing Developers. The new entity joins the LCD Group family of nonprofits: CommunityWorks North Dakota (CWND), Lewis & Clark Property Management, Lewis & Clark Regional Development Council (RDC), and Lewis & Clark Certified Development Company (CDC).

The addition of AHDI marks another chapter in LCD Group’s strategic evolution to meet North Dakota’s growing housing and property management needs, according to executive director Brent Ekstrom.

“This is a perfect marriage of expertise that allows us to take on nine additional properties, bring on four additional talented team members, and leverage our deep experience to keep these units available, affordable, and attractive for years to come. For us, it is more than numbers. It is about ensuring stability for the many individuals and families who call these 116 units home,” notes Ekstrom.

Lewis & Clark Housing Developers will operate as a federally designated Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) and will be governed by a board of directors committed to the housing needs of low- to moderate-income families throughout North Dakota.
