Lewis & Clark Development Group is fortunate to benefit from the expertise of so many state and community leaders who serve on our three boards of directors. Their service and support allows LCD Group’s three entities – Lewis & Clark Regional Development Council (RDC), Lewis & Clark Certified Development Company (CDC), and CommunityWorks North Dakota (CWND) – to fulfill our mission and positively impact businesses, communities, families, and individuals throughout North Dakota.
As part of our new Q&A series with our board members, we’ve invited Lewis & Clark CDC director Nathan Schneider to share his thoughts on the impact LCD Group’s business programs are having on the region’s economy.

What makes the Lewis & Clark CDC’s work meaningful to you?
Having an organization like Lewis & Clark CDC, and the variety of different programs they offer, gives our region an edge in growing and retaining businesses. Lewis & Clark Development Group offers a number of different business loan programs which only makes it easier for businesses to grow here. As a local economic developer it is important to me that new or expanding businesses have access to these programs. I appreciate whatever part I can play in ensuring Lewis and Clark CDC’s future and the ability for future companies to access these important programs.
What impact is Lewis & Clark CDC having on the region’s economy?
Lewis & Clark CDC continues to be a successful business assistance resource for new and expanding businesses in our region. Without them, and other business assistance programs, there would not be a number of businesses in our region. The ability for growing businesses to reduce or eliminate up-front costs through the SBA 504 program and the assistance Lewis and Clark CDC provides them is vital to their success.
