“Character and charm” define Legacy Apartments

Since starting property management services late last year, Lewis & Clark Development Group has added more than 300 units to its portfolio. Among these are 44 units in Williston’s Legacy Apartments.

Located right off of Main Street at 612 1st Avenue, the property is among LCD Group’s most unique yet – it was once home to Williston High School and later the city’s middle school.

Built in 1930s, this almost 90-year old property was rehabilitated and opened as housing complex in 2013.

“The beauty of this building is no two apartments are alike,” says Paulette Paulson, LCD Group multi-family housing director.

“The property is filled with character and charm. All units have hardwood floors and many have high ceilings and windows that bring in lots of natural light making Legacy Apartments really unique.”

Individuals aged 55 or older, or families with a head of household aged 55 or older, are eligible to live in Legacy. The complex features one and two bedroom apartments, an elevator, on-site laundry, and a suite for families and social gatherings. The former gymnasium has been retrofitted as an activity room and, as an added bonus, pets are allowed.

According to Paulson, apartments are currently available and a rent concession will be available for units rented in May.

Rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $653; a two-bedroom apartment goes for $783. All utilities – heat, air conditioning, water, garbage, and free parking – are included. Also, unlike many properties, the manager is located on site to assist tenants.

“Legacy Apartments is a real treasure in the community. It’s affordability is a wonderful option for many individuals and families,” notes Paulson. “We have several apartments that have rental assistance so if that is an option you are looking for, please also come and visit us during the open house so we can give more details. Please know our staff will help tenants with calculations to ensure income qualification.”

An open house for the public is planned for Saturday, May 15 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
