Coal Country Coffee joins long list of businesses benefiting from LCD Group’s regional business loan programs

Despite working from home and social distancing, the Lewis & Clark Regional Development Council (RDC) recently approved two loans to complete the financing for Coal Country Coffee, LLC of Mandan. Lewis & Clark RDC is part of Lewis & Clark Development Group. The Revolving Loan Funds will be used for a portion of the funding for a new coffee roaster and the IRP II Mandan Funds will be used for the local community match for the Flex PACE Interest Buydown Program.

Travis Helfrich started roasting coffee in his garage as a hobby about four years ago. Initially, Helfrich gave his coffee to family, friends, and co-workers. His hobby quickly evolved into a family-owned small business with growing demand necessitating the need to purchase another new roaster.

Coal Country Coffee roasts, packages, and provides coffee to 20 coffee shops, grocers, retail businesses, gas stations, and breweries in the Bismarck-Mandan area, Fargo, and Sidney, Montana.

Over the years, Coal Country Coffee has earned a growing and devoted customer following, fueled out of both an affinity for its coffee and thanks, in no small part, to its savvy approach to online sales. Visitors to www.coalcountrycoffee.com can order coffee, apparel, and merchandise. All orders under $50 are shipped free.

The company joins an extensive list of area small businesses that that have benefitted from LCD Group’s regional business loan and financing programs.
