Effective October 1, LCD Group’s commercial credit officer Derrick Becker will have a new title and role: loan officer.
Becker has been promoted to the position having joined the organization in December 2017.
In his four years with the organization, Becker had worked largely behind the scenes in assembling loan applications and servicing commercial loans through the SBA 504 loan program, the North Dakota Opportunity Fund (NDOF), and LCD Group’s regional lending programs.
But his behind-the-scenes role changed with the COVID-19 pandemic and the retirement of longtime SBA loan officer Tracy Whitney.
“It was an all-hands-on-deck moment and Derrick more than stepped up to the challenge. His knowledge and skills were critical for the lenders we worked with and the clients we served,” says LCD Group Executive Director Brent Ekstrom.
“Derrick is a key member of our small business assistance team. He has earned this promotion and his new role truly reflects the work he’s really already providing for Lewis and Clark Development Group’s partners and clients.”
Becker is a Bismarck native. He has 11 years of banking and finance experience.
“I’m obviously honored to have received this promotion. I love the people I work with and what I do. It’s been a challenge the last several months with COVID-19 but my job is very rewarding,” said Becker.
“I enjoy working with lenders and assisting borrowers in achieving their goals. I’m pleased to continue this work in my new role and be a part of this great organization.”
