Lewis & Clark Regional Development Council (RDC) has approved a loan through the North Dakota Opportunity Fund for interim financing to purchase and upgrade a property in Dickinson that will allow for the relocation of the Learning Ladder Preschool & Childcare.
A portion of the long-term financing for this project will also be completed by Lewis & Clark Certified Development Company (CDC) with the SBA 504 loan program. Dakota Community Bank of Dickinson is the lead bank on the project.
Learning Ladder will be moving to 2933 Third Avenue West, near TownePlace Suites by Marriott. The move will allow the day care to increase their capacity from 30 to 140 kids.
“It’s going to be a big growth for us,” owner Alyssa Kuntz said. “We just had the opportunity for it and there’s such a need in the community for day care. We hope to help address some of the need.”
The North Dakota Opportunity Fund leverages private lender financing to help small businesses and manufacturers attain the loans and investments needed to expand or create jobs. A consortium of 30 municipalities across North Dakota are eligible for participation in the program.
