Lewis & Clark Development Group is pleased to announce that it has received $459,000 in grant funding through a NeighborWorks Flexible Impact Grant (NFIG) from NeighborWorks® America.
The $78.8 million grant was awarded to 245 organizations in the NeighborWorks network, with support from North Dakota Senators Hoeven and Cramer and Representative Fedorchak.
In April, LCD Group Executive Director Brent Ekstrom visited Washington, D.C., to meet with fellow NWA officers and the state’s congressional delegation. NeighborWorks America® is a congressionally chartered nonprofit. LCD Group is the only NWA-chartered organization in North Dakota.
“We are grateful for the strong support from Senators Hoeven and Cramer and Representative Fedorchak. They recognize the importance of our work and the need to address housing in North Dakota. They are vital allies in our efforts, ”said LCD Group Executive Director Brent Ekstrom.
Addressing critical needs
The flexible grant offers core support, enabling LCD Group to allocate resources across North Dakota to boost housing, expand homeownership, and strengthen community projects.
“These grants are vital for addressing North Dakota’s housing needs. Affordable housing is the state’s urgent challenge, and we are actively working to address it head-on,” adds Ekstrom.
A vital pillar
Lewis & Clark Development Group remains a vital pillar of the state’s housing infrastructure. In the last fiscal year alone, the organization’s impact contributed to significant statewide milestones, including:
– Providing 945 total housing and counseling services.
– Managing and owning 836 rental homes.
– Helping 19 new homeowners purchase properties.
– Counseling 84 customers on finances and homeownership.
– Supporting the creation or maintenance of 80 jobs.
Incredible ROI
LCD Group leverages federal investment at an extraordinary rate. For every dollar received in grants from federally appropriated funds, the organization leverages it at a 257:1 ratio, resulting in a total investment of $121,518,621 back into North Dakota communities.
